Creating the alignment between an agency's strategy and its ethics provides it with ethical advantage.  This advantage translates into improved efficiencies, greater productivity, higher service standards, and innovative problem solving.

SBE's public sector solutions focus in two areas:
Strategy and Ethics

Cities:  SBE has helped City Managers achieve greater consensus in their councils and improve the interface between City Management and the Council.  Cities have used the ethical advantage created by SBE to realize vision and build harmonious coalitions in diverse cities.

Sheriff Departments: SBE has helped the Sheriff of one of the USA's largest departments to achieve his vision and bring his sworn and non-sworn personnel into alignment with his values.

Police Departments:  SBE has helped departments bring their bureaus into a common vision with respect to the allocation of scarce resources, the prioritizing of projects, and restructuring for cost-saving amidst city and state budgetary crises.  SBE helps to build trust and improve morale in difficult climates.

Department of Justice:  The Simon Wiesenthal Center, under a grant from the Department of Justice, created a series of National Institutes to address Hate Crimes and Terrorism. Delegates from the Criminal Justice System include Judges, DA's, Police Chiefs, Public Defenders, etc.  SBE, the lead consulting group for this grant, provides new thinking and strategies to combat Hate Crimes and Terrorism, which have been adopted in various counties, cities, and agencies around the country.

Training:  SBE designed the acclaimed "Soldier to Educator" training program, provided by the Los Angeles Museum of Tolerance to some 40,000 California law enforcement professionals.  SBE also designed the content of "Perspectives on Profiling," a new interactive video training program produced by the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
We build the client agency's values and strategic direction, utilizing input from its people.
